As I've mentioned before, makeup has always been my escape from the chaos of life. That’s why I wanted to create a space for beauty lovers to dive into everything beauty-related, away from the constant noise of social media and daily stress. In this blog, I want to share a bit more about why I felt so drawn to build Skyllure and how the joy of beauty has shaped my life.

TW: Anxiety and Panic

You’ve probably seen the trend where people post about doing their makeup with the caption “my kind of therapy.” For me, that’s a real thing. I’ve struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember and have dealt with panic attacks since I was young. But I found that the only time I could truly escape my anxiety was when I was playing with makeup. It’s become a mindfulness activity for me, and doing my makeup isn’t just fun—it’s incredibly healing.

Honestly, this is about as much as I feel comfortable sharing about my anxiety for now. I hope to be able to talk about it more openly someday, but I’m still on my journey of healing.

If you’re also dealing with anxiety, please know you’re not alone. Skyllure is here for you—offering a little distraction and a chance to take care of your mind through the world of beauty.

<3,

Skyler
