Makeup Products I Will Not Be Repurchasing

As someone who loves trying new makeup products, I’m destined to come across some faves, and some not-so-faves. In this blog, I’m talking about the makeup products I’ve tried throughout the summer that I will NOT be repurchasing. I want to emphasize that these are my personal opinions. Some products that I don’t like might be someone else’s favorites. This is no hate towards any of these brands. In fact, some of these products are from my all-time favorite brands. So please keep that in mind during this blog! Let's get into the products:

Ilia Limitless Mascara

Why: Unfortunately, this mascara never really stood a chance. My Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara has set the bar so high that it's hard to imagine any other mascara living up to those expectations. I have short and straight eyelashes, so I need my mascara to do the MOST. Personally, this mascara did not lift or curl my eyelashes in the way I needed it to.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Sun Pearl

Why: I love the shade of this product, but unfortunately it creases on my eyelids. I also did not find it to be long-wearing. While I won't be repurchasing this product in this shade, I am curious to see if other shades have the same problems.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24h Eye Stix

Why: I had high hopes for this product because I love the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows in the pot. However, I found this eyeshadow stick version to be extremely dry. Since it was so dry, I couldn't get enough pigment on my eyelids.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil

Why: I had the same problem with this product as I had with the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Stix. It was far too dry and I struggled to get any pigment on my eyelids. The last thing you want to do with an eyeshadow is have to press down hard on your eyelids to get any color.

Kosas 10 Second Eye in Simmer

Why: Clearly, I struggled with the eye products I tried this summer. This product was also a bummer for me because I used to use the Kosas 10 Second Eye cream eye shadow products years ago and I LOVED them. However, I recently repurchased them and the formula feels very different to me. I found it to be less effortless and harder to blend.
