Sephora Favorites recently released a new perfume discovery set called “Best Vanilla Scents.” As an avid fan of vanilla scents, I needed to see for myself if these are truly the “best.” I am always looking for a new perfume that makes me smell sweet and delicious. Here are my thoughts and rankings on what Sephora considers their best vanilla scents:

Fragrance Notes: Peony Accord, Centifolia Rose Accord, Freesia Accord
Thoughts: This might just be my favorite perfume of all time. Not only do you smell sweet and floral, but it also smells mature at the same time.

Fragrance Notes: Sea salt, Natural Vanilla Absolute, Orchid Absolute, Absolute Brown Musk, Bezoin Absolute, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean
Thoughts: Smells like a sweet summer on the beach.

Fragrance Notes: Pear, Rose, Vanilla, Amber, Caramel
Thoughts: Absolutely delicious! So sweet and calming.

Fragrance Notes: Black Coffee White Flowers Vanilla Perfume Warm & Spicy Gourmand
Thoughts: This smells more like a seductive and warm perfume, rather than light and sweet, but I still love it.

Fragrance Notes: Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Vanilla Orchid, Coconut, Kashmir Wood
Thoughts: I'm indifferent about this perfume. I love the vanilla notes, but it smells too much like chemicals for my liking.

Fragrance Notes: Cappuccino, Pure Vanilla, Caramelized Cedar
Thoughts: I am not a fan of the cappuccino notes. I don't really want to smell anything like coffee, it's the sweet and delectable smell I was hoping for.

Fragrance Notes: White Tulip, Black Pepper, Saffron, Cashmere Wood, Black Amber, Vanilla Absolute, Coffee Absolute
Thoughts: This perfume is also not for me, I find it too spicy, which probably comes from the black pepper, black amber, and coffee absolute

Fragrance Notes: Chestnut Accord, Cashmeran, Clove Accord
Thoughts: I don't really know how this one qualifies as a vanilla fragrance at all. It's way to woody and musky for me.
