Bang for your buck?

“The Body Lotion” by Necessaire retails for $45 for 13.5 oz , and “The Body Wash” by Necessaire retails for $25 for 8.4 oz. Despite these hefty price tags, these products garnered lots of attention on social media and even boasted an Allure Best of Beauty Award. Thanks to their aesthetic packaging, which I knew would look beautiful in my shower and on my nightstand, I decided to give the products a try and see if they were worth the money.
On the bright side, both of the products are fragrance-free, which is becoming more and more important to me as I learn about the negative effects of artificial fragrances. Necessaire does offer scents, such as Eucalyptus, but I’m on the hunt for the best fragrance-free products. After months of using the products, and finishing the bottles, I came to an unfortunate conclusion. Save your money.
I really wanted to like these products. The beautiful packaging, the clean ingredients, and the acclaim associated with them all drew me in. However, there is nothing special about these products. For the price tag, I needed to feel like I was getting something out of the products that I didn’t experience with my Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion and Body Wash, which each cost around $10 from the drugstore. Unfortunately, I found myself wanting to go back to using my Aveeno products. Neither the body wash nor the body lotion from Necessaire left me feeling exceptionally moisturized, nor did I experience any “firming” which was promised by the lotion. On top of that, the lotion does not last long at all.
To put it simply — the Necessaire body lotion and body wash are not worth the money. So far, the drugstore options have the fancy alternatives beat.
